COURSE CANCELLATION POLICY

GRAD & UNDERGRAD COURSES

  1. Purpose: The purpose of this cancellation policy is to establish guidelines and procedures regarding the cancellation of courses offered at DIRECTIONWAY. This policy aims to ensure clarity, fairness, and consistency in managing course cancellations while taking into account the needs of both students and the college.

  2. Scope: This policy applies to all courses offered at DIRECTIONWAY and is applicable to both undergraduate and graduate programs.

  3. Course Cancellation Criteria: Courses may be subject to cancellation under the following circumstances: a) Insufficient Enrollment: If a course fails to meet the minimum enrollment threshold set by the college, it may be subject to cancellation. The minimum enrollment threshold will be determined by the college administration based on factors such as course capacity, demand, and program requirements. b) Instructor Unavailability: In cases where an instructor becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, resignation), the college may cancel the course if a suitable replacement cannot be arranged in a reasonable time frame. c) Facility or Resource Constraints: If there are constraints related to facilities, resources, or other logistical considerations that prevent the college from offering a course as scheduled, it may be subject to cancellation.

  4. Notification of Course Cancellation: a) Minimum Notice Period: The college will strive to provide a minimum notice period of 15 DAYS to students enrolled in a course that is being canceled. This notice period allows students sufficient time to make alternative arrangements, adjust their schedules, and seek alternative course options. b) Communication Channels: The college will notify affected students of course cancellations through official communication channels, such as the college website, email, student portal, and other appropriate means.

  5. Actions for Affected Students: a) Course Replacement: If a course is canceled, the college will make reasonable efforts to offer affected students an alternative course that aligns with their academic goals, program requirements, and availability. The college will work closely with students to explore suitable replacement options. b) Refund or Credit: In situations where a suitable replacement course is not available or feasible, the college will provide affected students with the option of a refund or credit for the canceled course fees paid.

  6. Exceptional Circumstances: In exceptional circumstances, such as a force majeure event, where the college is unable to offer an alternative course or provide a refund/credit, the college will assess each case individually and work with affected students to find a fair and reasonable resolution.

  7. Review and Amendments: This policy will be periodically reviewed and updated as needed to ensure its effectiveness. Amendments to this policy may be made at the discretion of the college administration, considering the best interests of the students and the college.

By enrolling in a course at DIRECTIONWAY, students acknowledge their understanding and acceptance of this cancellation policy.
